Is it true that when you are really trying to lose weight, you should focus more on cardio training than weight training? I personally believe that you should try to do more cardio intense routines when you are trying to lose weight.

I still think that you should incorporate muscle training in too, but at first especially when you are trying to get fat off the body as quickly as possible to expose that lean muscle, you should really try to melt the fat off first by getting tons of cardio conditioning in.

As I look at the workout DVD’s in department stores, and as I scroll through my beloved Fit TV listings for the day, I see a lot of the same common theme in fitness now – dance. Dance is becoming a great way for a lot of people to burn off calories and fat and get their cardio in, but more importantly, to have fun doing it.

Dance is not only a creative, free form of expression, but it also doesn’t feel so much like you’re working out, which makes it a little more likely that you’ll stick to it, and more importantly that you’ll actually ENJOY it. Who knew?!

Unfortunately, the great tasting whey protein powder that so many people use when they are trying to build lean muscle by supplementing it with extra pure, lean protein, has an uncomfortable and often embarrassing side effect. That side effect is constipation.

You may be able to offset this side effect if you are just adding a few scoops of whey protein powder to a pure fresh fruit smoothie, since the fiber in the fruit may offset the constipation causing ingredients.

A diet drug that has been on the market in Europe and was being studied for it’s potential heart and cardiovascular benefits as well as it’s cholesterol lowering capabilities, has been yanked because of fears it may be causing higher suicide rates in the groups that are using the drugs versus the placebo groups.

You see, when they study drugs, supplements, or really anything else that may impact human health or behavior, they put people in controlled groups of users and placebo groups who just think they are using a drug but really are not.

We have two new and exciting pages here at Fitness News. One of them is about something that a lot of women worry over, and also that happens to be very hard to manage and get rid of or reduce the appearance of – cellulite. Cellulite reducers, our new page, shows you ways that you can reduce it’s appearance, in addition of course, to exercise. Exercise is still key to reduce cellulite because it keeps the circulation moving and also tones the problem areas where cellulite most commonly occurs.

There has been a lot of buzz lately in the world of fitness and working out, about the fact that working out on an empty stomach actually forces your body to burn more calories, and also importantly, more fat, than if you go into your workout with a full belly or enough nutrition to burn off.

My husband and I are on a fitness tear, and he’s begun taking the body building muscle supplement creatine again. I mean, usually we’re both very aware of our exercise regimens, but we do tend to fall off the radar a bit with the consistency aspect.

I wanted to talk to you today about a supplement that my husband just started taking again recently that’s been around for a long time, creatine. Creatine has been around since I can remember. It certainly was around when I was in high school, which is a lot longer ago than I care to admit!

There is one thing at the top of my “must have” or deal breakers lists when I am on the hunt for high quality exercise equipment that I can use in my own home. That top of the list item is comfort.

You have to be comfortable on any piece of workout equipment if you will ever set foot on it again, or at least want to set foot on it again, after that first initial use. For this reason, you should really stick to buying higher quality when it comes to gym equipment.

I have to admit, this fact worries me a lot about my own lifestyle, not because I’m always sedentary when I’m not working out by choice, but because it just so happens that my job, which I work at 4 days a week, 11 hours a day, requires that I sit at a desk. Sure, I get up and walk around once in a while and make frequent bathroom breaks, but this really doesn’t break up the day of sitting as much as it should.

So apparently eating less meat not only can lower your risk of several serious diseases and disorders, but it can also have a big impact on how likely you are to stay at an ideal weight well into your later years. People who eat a lot of meat are more likely to gain more weight than their light meat eaters over a time span of five years or more.

This signifies something pretty concrete because the tracking that showed this correlation also showed that even when heavy meat eaters ate the same amount of calories as the non-heavy meat eaters, the lighter carnivores tended to remain thinner and more healthy over the years.
