I’ve tried quite a few of the Fit TV shows now, and some of them I love and couldn’t do without recording them every week and doing at least one of them a week along with the rest of my exercise repertoire. Some of them, not so much.  Like the Dance and Be Fit show, which I’ve now tried two different shows of.  I tried one that was based on Capoeira, which is the Brazilian dance/martial art that is taking certain areas by storm, and the second one I tried was one based on hip hop moves.  I didn’t like either of them. Just not my cup of tea.

Many women think that exercising during pregnancy is a no-no, or at the very least they think they need to take it WAY easier than they normally do during their workouts.  But many times, that is not true, especially if you are a really fit, healthy person to begin with, who is used to exerting yourself physically.

It all depends on what your OBGYN says ultimately of course, since they usually know what is best for your personal situation, but usually you can work out the same way you have been and are used to doing when you are preggers, up to the last days of your pregnancy, as long as you aren’t doing anything to strenuous in those last few weeks and days.

I remember the first time I heard this (awful) term. It was when I was still in high school. And believe it or not, I believe I first heard it from my mom, or at least I heard it from someone else and asked her what it meant because I had no idea. For those of you who don’t know what this endearing euphemism is, it means that you get a flat, wide butt from sitting too much – hence the term “secretary’s spread” – which was also heavily associated with lots of cellulite.

There are a number of ways that your workouts can help you burn more calories. However, we all tend to get stuck in that “phoning it in at the gym” rut where our bodies become used to the same old workout we’ve been doing and they just stop burning calories and building muscle after a while.

That’s because our bodies adapt to exercises, and that’s why it’s important to keep upping the ante, so to say, since your body will hit a plateau and will no longer be able to lose fat and build muscle and continue to sculpt itself into a Greek God or Goddess type of perfection.

When it comes to my patterns of sleep, there is one thing I notice that stands out as an obvious factor in whether I’m going to get a good night’s sleep that evening. When I work out, especially when I work out hard cardio-wise, I almost always sleep like a baby that night. I don’t know if it’s just because I’ve expended energy and my body really sleeps a lot harder to recuperate.

One of the toughest parts of keeping a regular workout schedule is figuring out new ways to now only challenge your body and ratchet up the challenge as you go to your body, but also keeping your workouts interesting. This is key to wanting to continue working out. If you don’t like what you’re doing of you feel bored with it, it’s that much harder to get through it without getting bored, thinking of the millions of other things you could be doing, and losing interest.

I worked out really hard on Thursday of this week, and had a massage appointment scheduled for Friday. I schedule them once a month for my neck and my back problems, all of which stem from injuries I got in two car accidents when I was younger from whiplash.  I’m sure I had some sort of pre existing condition too, it’s just that the two car accidents that occurred within five years of eachother aggravated the situation.

A lot of people, including myself when I first learned of this new fangled reading on your standing when it comes to your weight and your overall health, are confused when it comes to exactly what the BMI, or Body Mass Index, means. It is really a measure of the ratio of fat to muscle on your body. Excess fat means a host of health problems, and for this reason, it has become the hallmark measure for your weight and your health.

Can you actually overdose on creatine?  Creatine is a naturally occurring protein in our body. You can supplement your creatine intake by taking products with creatine in them or even other types of protein powders for building muscle that may contain some derivative of creatine or some similar muscle building ingredient.

Since your body also makes it’s own creatine, you should be careful about how much you take, especially if you work out all the time, or do very intense workouts that have your body creating it’s own creatine in abundance.
