So, I saw a few videos on a popular health and alternative news and fitness website about how interval training goes a lot further than consistent cardio activity at the gym. In fact, just three days a week with 20 minute intense workouts is supposed to be better than just going at a constant pace for that same period of time.

Of course, you still sprinkle in your normal workouts for good measure, but adding these short burst intervals are a great way to actually torch fat and calories, as well as to build cardio endurance very quickly.

I’ve long seen a direct correlation between my own health and wellness, and lack of flu and colds being caught, and the amount of exercise I’m doing. I never knew if it was just a mind/body connection thing, where my body felt great, and my attitude was great from getting all those endorphins going. And I didn’t care. I mean, not getting sick is not getting sick, and no matter how it’s being achieved I just take it for granted!

While it seems like carbs of any type help to add to the fat content of our bodies, it is true that whole grains, which contain lots of unrefined fiber and other good vitamins and minerals, can be a real helper to fat busting, especially around the all to problematic belly area.

Belly fat is the most dangerous type fat to carry on your body. It is heavily correlated with coronary (heart) problems because it puts pressure on not only the heart itself, but it also puts pressure on the other vital organs, which in turn forces the heart to work harder to pump blood to these vital body parts.

There was a controversy brewing when LeAnn Rimes, the formerly seeming innocent country singer who blasted onto the scene when she remade a country classic song “How Do I Live” and the album and the song went crazy on the charts. After that, her fame sort of cooled off a bit, but she made tabloid headlines again just a few years back when she began dating a costar of hers when the two of them were both married.

It’s become more and more apparent throughout the study of heart and circulatory health, that good circulation, which means the free, unencumbered flow of blood throughout the body is vitally important not only to your health and energy levels, but also to your longevity. Heart attacks and strokes are two of the biggest catastrophes that can strike us down before we reach a ripe old age where we’ve lived a full and satisfactory life span.

I read the most interesting story the other day about a curious treadmill that was conceived of by a NASA scientist. The scientist actually thought of the theory behind it, and his son ended up running with the opposite idea, which was to take gravity away, so patients of traumatic injuries can learn to walk and run again with no impact on their joints, which may make it one of the best treadmills for running.

I’ve realized after years and years of doing various ab workouts, that it’s not the reps (repetitions), or the intensity or speed at which I work my abs that really helps me to build a six pack, or at least help it all to suck in all of the time, when standing or sitting so I don’t have a muffin top. It’s actually more the positions and angles that I’m at when I’m doing my ab workouts that makes the most impact on my results.

Long distance runners commonly load up on pain relievers and anti inflammatories that are easily accessible over the counter (OTC). They do this because it is sort of a pre-emptive strike against muscle pain and cramping, which can hamper your long distance running times and also can put you in pain when your muscles start to collect tons of lactic acid from being over exerted for such a long time.

This can actually put your health in grave danger though, and warnings are now being issued to long distance marathon runners and runners who do hard, grueling runs to not pop  too many of these common anti inflammatory pills before a run. The reason is that they can actually put too much strain on your kidneys.
