So, I’m very excited because I got a great coupon for a local herbal therapy wrap business which I’m going to have next week. It’s my first professional herbal body wrap treatment, and I honestly have no idea what to expect, although I know what I would like to see.

Herbal body wraps have actually been used for hundreds of years as a way to promote body contouring, reduce cellulite, and help to soften and heal the skin.  Some people even say that regular body wraps help their skin to heal faster and also help to diminish old scars and make them a lot less noticeable.

This is a very unique time we live in right now.  There seems to be a lot of stressed out people who have almost had it with their jobs.  I don’t know one of my friends who has a lot of “down time” at their jobs, and the same goes for me. This is definitely the most stressful time I’ve ever experienced at any of my jobs in my life.

There’s a lot of talk about this magical “40″ number. For some reason, the media seems to think that once a woman hits this age, it’s absolutely phenomenal if she still looks great in a bathing suit. That really irritates me as a woman who plans on being fit well past 40, and into my old age.

Sure, I know that things naturally don’t defy gravity as well as they used to when you pass 40 or 50 – that’s just a natural process. But that doesn’t mean that all women are doomed to put on pounds and pounds of fat and just give up on having a nice, trim and fit physique.

One way to make your workout more effective is the addition of ankle and wrist weights.  With each part of your exercise routine, you will be further toning your muscles and building your strength.

The use of ankle and wrist weights doesn’t have to start and stop with your workout time.  They can be used while you go about your normal activities of daily living.  Just don’t take this principle to such an extreme that you are wearing them constantly as this can cause undue strain on your joints.

I found this to be a really interesting study, although I’m not really sure why some of these studies are funded or commissioned, since they seem to have fairly obvious outcomes – and really, couldn’t the money used to be doing these things do something more important, like feed people who are hungry?

I digress, but sometimes it does irk me to see all these random studies being done which really don’t seem to benefit anyone in any material way when there are so many people under extreme financial duress right now.

This is quite a staggering number to read, I must say.  It’s clear that obesity is a national epidemic. It certainly has been an epidemic for some years now here in the US, but it now is becoming more of a global epidemic as more and more cultures take to quick, easy foods that are low in nutrition and filling qualities and high in salt, fat and sugar.

It’s not only food that contributes to the obesity rate, as you well know -it’s also inactivity, which has become another huge problem. Even thinking back to my childhood in the eighties, we had toys that required moving around to play with them.

There are a lot of new workouts that promise to really pack a lot of calorie burning and muscle building into about a one half hour session lately. And that’s good news for those of us, like myself, who can’t stand wasting an hour or more working out every single time they hit the gym or work out at home.

You know, sometimes, even after an hour workout, if you’re stuck in a routine, sure you feel better, you feel like you did something after you’re done, but you know deep down that you really didn’t push your body to any new levels of fitness or burn any stupendous amount of calories.

It’s the national American pastime big game day today, and the majority of us today will be watching a game for a few hours, and undoubtedly also engaging in some beer drinking, or some other sort of fun, as well as a lot of snacking and binge eating.

Things like deep fried wings, chips and dip, soda pop, pizza, and other unhealthy foods loaded with saturate fat, sodium, and sugar, will be inundating our bodies today shortly. But – you can help to mitigate the effects of these naughty foods and the fact that you’ll be spending several hours indoors on your duff by working out before the big game!

I saw one of the most interesting and novel fitness concepts the other day, reading through the news as I typically do several times a week to keep up on current events and happenings.  It’s actually cool too, because it probably helps you to really wake up quicker and get into the mode of getting ready faster, because it helps send blood to vital parts of the body faster by getting your blood pumping first thing.

It may not be for everyone, but I certainly think it’s a neat idea!  And oh, it also may not match your decor, but there’s nothing stopping you from putting this thing right under your nightstand!
