Boy, when I read these articles about what danger people are in who have desk jobs, I can’t help but read it and get a little scared, since I work at a desk job 4 days a week. To boot, those days are almost eleven hours long, and the majority of that day is spent at a cubicle style desk where needless to say, my movement is pretty restricted.

So I just had my first opportunity to really get ou tand about in the yard and do some yard work. It was a perfect day to do it. At first I thought it was a bit chillier than I would have wanted but once I got going and got my heart pumping and circulation going and started to really work, I was glad it was only about 55 degrees!

I must admit, I was embarrassed that my hubby watched WWE. I did not grow up with watching it like so many other kids did. I grew up to think that kind of television was sensationalistic garbage. So maybe my parents were a bit elitist, but I enjoyed a lot of the stuff they did let me watch – and a lot of that stuff was crap too, if I’m being totallly honest.

WWE is nothing more than entertainment, pure and simple. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy catching the occasional match with my husband on tv, and enjoying the comedy that happens in the ring, and looking at some of the amazing physiques some of these guys have!

Stress fractures are actually easier to get than you think from physically exerting yourself for longer periods of time, or simply holding too much weight – whether it’s your own body weight – or carrying something that is simply too heavy for your bones to bear the weight of.

Stress fractures are quite common if you are a runner, do not wear the right kinds of running shoes, or have a good treadmill for running, which has a comfortable padding on it that eliminates or greatly reduce the bouncing and pressure that occur on the joints and the bones in the feet and the legs when you run.

Yoga is an exercise that is wonderful for many reasons, not the least of which is its incredible versatility and ability to take even the most inexperienced person and make them into a graceful yogi in weeks.  It has so many levels of difficulty that anyone from your child to your grandma can do it.

Yoga has a lot of proven health benefits. Most notably, it helps to open the passageways for breathing, and helps to calm nerves and balance the hormones, so it is mostly well known as a stress buster and anti anxiety exercise.

Cellulite is one of the most pervasive beauty issues that women report having issues with. Actually, over 90% of all women have cellulite on some area of their body. And those other supposed 10%?  Well, I think that’s a myth – I think that 100% of women have cellulite to some degree!

Of course, working out and watching your weight can dramatically reduce your cellulite, but there is always going to be some, even if you are thin and you work out regularly. The reason that working out helps smooht out cellulite is that it sculpts the body and the muscles “pulling in” the tissues, and making them appear more firm.

One of the biggest reasons that people don’t get enough exercise is that they simply can’t find enough time.  It is true that we are a deadline driven society and that, due to tough economic times, many of us work two jobs and barely have time to do basic housework, sleep and go back to work.

There are ways to fit more physical activity into your day without spending hours at the gym.  During break time at work, instead of getting coffee and a snack, take your break outside and take a walk.  Ask a coworker to come along to make it more enjoyable.

I read one of the best books I’ve read in a long time about the body’s natural healing abilities, and natural ways to help keep your body healthy, energetic, and vital well into your older age. It’s by a well known holistic doctor, Dr. Andrew Weil, and it was actually written several years ago.

It will still be a relevant book many years from now even though, in my humble opinion. It’s called “Spontaneous Healing”. It is not only an eye opening and educational read about how to keep your body healthy using nature, but it is also an incredibly entertaining and well written book for a man who is not by trade a writer.

I wanted to keep you posted on the series of body wraps I purchased a few weeks ago. These are herbal therapy body wraps, and I bought a package of ten, priced very reasonably, in a local place that is near where I live here in Northeastern Ohio called Herbal Therapy Body Wraps.

I will admit I was a bit dubious when I first started, but I had high hopes that I might see an improvement (inch reduction) in my thighs – particularly in the saddle bag area that I have always struggled with.  Any other improvements I got, as far as I was concerned, were just icing on the cake.

Running is an excellent form of exercise, in my opinion. For me, in the summer, there’s nothing like taking a jog out in the fresh air, past the corn fields in the backroads by our home, and just enjoying the feeling of being free, and using my legs what they were meant for.

I’m not a big “runner”, in that I don’t do sprints, but instead take a slower gait and jog, but there are some times when I’ll sprint short distances and alternate jogging and running to really get my metabolism going.
