Well, I’ve heard of lots of fitness fads, but this one sounds downright dangerous, especially for someone like myself who I happen to know sucks at surfing!  The reason I mention surfing is because you use a surf-like board when practicing paddle board yoga.

It looks like it may be a little wider of a board than is traditionally used in surfing, which may be a little better for stability.  In paddle board yoga, you may also be using an actual paddle stick with the paddle flat at the end.

We know that exercise in general helps you to sleep more soundly at night.  Vigorous exercise, of course not when done right before bed, can really tire our bodies out so that we are primed for sleep when bed time finally hits.  It is this tiring out that we need in order to actually feel ready to turn in and get some shut eye at night.

When you have a lot of pent up energy and anxiety from your day hanging over your head, you are less likely to get good sleep at night.  It may be fitful sleep or you may actually even have restless legs or a restless mind that doesn’t allow you to fully recuperate from the day’s trials and tribulations.

Have you seen these crazy looking athletic walking and running shoes that look like a foot skeleton yet? They’re actually very futuristic looking, but they look like on me, who needs a lot of arch and ball support in my shoes, they would cause a lot of pain in my foot and in my back!

I’ve never tried a pair on, but I’d venture to guess these are the types of shoes that only certain people can wear who don’t need a ton of support when they’re either running, walking or doing a lot of physical activity. Especially the kind that involves a lot of jumping around and joint impact.

My husband and I have owned our infrared (FIR) sauna now for about 4 years. We keep it in our basement. It has been the source of endless comfort for tired muscles, and for both of our backs and necks since we’ve both been in car accidents where we sustained injuries to these sensitive body parts.

For me it has been great in the winter time especially. I’m naturally quite the freeze baby and don’t have the greatest circulation to begin with. I can’t sit still for any period of time without getting cold hands and fingers.  So for me, our infrared sauna provides me with a much needed respite from the freezing cold, bone chilling winters we tend to have here in northeast Ohio.

Every family has one of them. Those people that really have consistently worked out their whole lives. They are usually very health conscious, body conscious, and they are those people that tend to maintain a healthy weight and physique even when everyone else is throwing caution to the wind.

Yes, at times we may find them a little annoying, and even envy them here and there.  But you have to give major props to those that treat their body like it is meant to be treated – as a temple to which all you do to it has a definitive outcome.  Everything you do for your body and to your body ultimately reflects in the way you look and feel.

There are two obesity epidemics happening today. One is with adults, and the other sadly is with children. We are seeing higher obesity rates in younger and younger children due to a combination of issues with our society, including diet and popular foods, lack of exercise due to modern amenities, and a rushed lifestyle that unfortunately includes lots of sitting and rushing, not literally rushing around and physcially wearing yourself out like the olden days.

It’s so funny because every time I read one of these “top 10″ or “top 5″ lists of ways to either relieve stress, reduce depression or lift mood and reduce anxiety, the one thing that is ALWAYS on the list is EXERCISE.  So, I always beg the question, why isn’t everyone and their brother on the exercise bandwagon?

I mean, why don’t we require that kids go through an appreciation course for exercise and what it does for the human body?  It should be a requirement, instead of all these useless gym classes that don’t really teach kids an appreciation or understanding of how exercise will benefit them throughout life.

I know so many people who buy large pieces of expensive exercise equipment only to keep them stowed away in some corner, collecting dust and acting as a coat hanger or place for them to throw all their clothes.  I always think it feels so wasteful, but I’d be lying if I said that there were not several pieces of workout equipment that I had purchased (nothing huge, usually the littler things) that didn’t just sit around and never get used.

If you are looking to get fit and are interested in fast results to getting the toned and sculpted muscular look, Rushfit is a possible way to achieve your goals.  Rushfit is a fitness program designed by George St. Pierre, who is a mixed martial artist champion, and his trainer, Erik Owings.

This is a good solid exercise regimen that is actually quite practical in terms of time and money invested.  The recommended amount of time to be spent each day working out is 45 minutes.  The cost for obtaining the material needed is 3 payments of $29.99 plus shipping and handling for the 8 week home training camp materials.
