My husband and I are on a fitness tear, and he’s begun taking the body building muscle supplement creatine again. I mean, usually we’re both very aware of our exercise regimens, but we do tend to fall off the radar a bit with the consistency aspect.
I wanted to talk to you today about a supplement that my husband just started taking again recently that’s been around for a long time, creatine. Creatine has been around since I can remember. It certainly was around when I was in high school, which is a lot longer ago than I care to admit!
The one difference, according to my husband, these days with creatine is that it no longer is a powder that you have to take with grape juice. I have no idea why you used to have to take it with grape juice and I won’t venture a guess right now.
The formula has evolved over the years, and this protein for muscle repair and muscle building has definitely taken a turn for the better. He takes two pills a day, and that’s it. He says that it really helps his muscles to mend themselves and prepare again for a workout.
Why would this matter, I wondered, when you should really be sore after a good workout at the gym anyways, isn’t that what working out is all about after all? Well, yes and no. Here’s the good thing about these types of body building muscle supplements that allow your muscles to recover faster, such as creatine (there are many others that are excellent quality too).
Especially with men, they are usually working out to get somewhat bulky and hard. So, it benefits them to recover their muscles more quickly, because it allows them to work out more often and more intensely without the same muscle fatigue and extreme soreness they might otherwise experience.
This allows for faster, more consistent muscle building, and lets a guy get a harder, leaner, and more muscle bound physique a lot faster. It’s really helping my husband with his muscle building endeavors, he says that he can work out a lot longer without experiencing that same fatigue he used to get. I’d say that’s worth it!
