It’s the holidays, and there are two things that are almost inevitable. While it is a time of great joy and comfort, so to speak, it’s also a time for two baddies to show up.

The baddies I speak of are stress and weight gain.  They always seem to go hand in hand, don’t they? Except this time it’s really because there’s so much good food staring you in the face.

And there’s also the stress of all the parties, the gifts you feel you have to buy for everyone, feeling like you shorted people on certain things, the work functions, the family functions you have to juggle your schedule for…..

While it seems like carbs of any type help to add to the fat content of our bodies, it is true that whole grains, which contain lots of unrefined fiber and other good vitamins and minerals, can be a real helper to fat busting, especially around the all to problematic belly area.

Belly fat is the most dangerous type fat to carry on your body. There are a number of ways that your workouts can help you burn more calories. However, we all tend to get stuck in that “phoning it in at the gym” rut where our bodies become used to the same old workout we’ve been doing and they just stop burning calories and building muscle after a while.

That’s because our bodies adapt to exercises, and that’s why it’s important to keep upping the ante, so to say, since your body will hit a plateau and will no longer be able to lose fat and build muscle and continue to sculpt itself into a Greek God or Goddess type of perfection.

Is it true that when you are really trying to lose weight, you should focus more on cardio training than weight training? I personally believe that you should try to do more cardio intense routines when you are trying to lose weight.

I still think that you should incorporate muscle training in too, but at first especially when you are trying to get fat off the body as quickly as possible to expose that lean muscle, you should really try to melt the fat off first by getting tons of cardio conditioning in.
