Recumbent Bike Reviews from Daily Diet Blog - A Long Time Coming!

If you are an exercise fan, especially a fan of biking, and the weather outside is not particularly good for your sport, there is still a way to get in your daily pedaling. A recumbent bike can be a great way to get going in your daily exercise and to really enjoy the time that you have to spend indoors. Here are some of our favorites.

Schwinn 230 Recumbent Exercise Bike Review

One of the big problems with buying exercise equipment is that you might have to assemble it once you get it home. The Schwinn 230 recumbent exercise bike gets past that problem with step-by-step instructions that make it a simple assembly process. If you are focused, it can take an hour or less to assemble this bike, and from there, the sky is the limit for your workouts.

The Schwinn 230 recumbent exercise bike is attractive, but what will really attract you to it is that it runs silently, allowing you to complete your workout while watching television, listening to the radio (yes, even soft music) or reading a book without distractions from the noise. The very comfortable seat makes working out on this recumbent bike a pure pleasure, and the relaxing nature of your workout will inspire you to use the bike more often.

There is a wide range of options for the resistance level of the bike, which can take you from practically none at all to very hard to push within the 16 built in resistance levels. If you would prefer a program, you can use any of the 6 preset programs for the bike or one of the 10 program courses. While there are some minor complaints, for example that the heart rate sensor is not the best or that the BMI calculator could be more useful, this is still a wonderful example of a recumbent bike, and is very highly recommended.

ProForm Recumbent Bike Reviews

There are many kinds of ProForm recumbent bikes to choose from if this is your preferred brand of exercise equipment, including the GR 80 recumbent bike. The ProForm GR 80 is a highly rated and stylish recumbent bike with 4 workouts built right into the bike’s computer for you to choose from. The heart rate monitor is a superior type, and the bike is an excellent quality for a low price.

If you are the type to get bored while you work out, the ProForm 465RE recumbent bike is a great option for you. In addition to the comfortable seat, digital resistance, and a great fat burning program, you can also play some of your favorite classic games right on the recumbent bike’s screen. The ProForm 465RE has games like Black Jack, Texas Hold’em, Calorie Destroyer, and Dropping Pounds to play while you work out. Best yet, the games get easier the harder you work!

If you would rather get back to basics, the ProForm BodyFit 100 XR recumbent exercise bike is a great value. It is a very simple, basic bike with a step-through design and a classic simplicity that will look good in your home. The design is meant to be smaller and lightweight so that your recumbent bike doesn’t take up too much space, and for the most part you won’t mind looking at this bike even if you have to leave it out! ProForm offers a range of other models as well, like the GT 120 and the GR 90, some with more or less features than others.

LifeSpan Recumbent Bike Review

LifeSpan also offers two great recumbent exercise bikes, the LifeSpan R2 and the LifeSpan R3 recumbent exercise bikes. The R2 is the less expensive of the two, and features an oversized flywheel, which has a 12 inch diameter and a weight of 19 pounds. It has a comfortable seat and self balancing pedals for comfort in your rides, and is a decently small size to help it fit comfortably in your home. Beware the heavy frame, though – at 133 pounds, this bike can be difficult to move once you get it set up where you want it. Use the EKG pulse grip and the 15 levels of resistance to get a great, customized workout to fit your body and fitness needs.

The LifeSpan R3 recumbent exercise bike is also a great machine, and costs a little more. This is due, in part, to the even larger flywheel, which weighs 24 pounds and is the same 12 inches as the flywheel on the R2. The seat is oversized for optimal comfort just like the R2, but overall the entire bike weighs 28 pounds less than the R2, coming in at only 105. This bike is very sturdy, built to withstand weight of up to 350 pounds and is perfect for regular exercise. The recumbent position allows for greater ease of workout, and the bike is nicely quiet, too, so you can watch TV or read a book while you work out and not worry about distraction.
