A great running shoe can make ALL the difference in the comfort and performance of your running routine.  Whether you run every day, or once a week, or even once a month, it is of vital importance that you always have a new enough shoe that hasn’t broken down too much and that has adequate padding and spring-cushioning so that you can minimize the risk of injury and strain.

I’ve put together this running shoes review page because I know how many running shoes I had to try one a few years ago before I found one that literally made it feel like I was walking on air when I put it on.  My husband ended up buying the same brand and same line as I did as well, and we both can’t rave enough about them.

In interest of full disclosure, I want to tell you that I’m a huge fan of Adidas shoes. For some reason, Adidas is the only brand that really fits my foot well. My husband has found the same thing, and we both own a few pairs of Adidas shoes in our hoursehold – not just running shoes either.

While Nike and Reebok may have some good shoes that are great on other people’s feet, we’ve just found that Adidas are the ones for us.  So, I am going to review the Reeboks, Nikes and Adidas running shoes that we’ve had experience with in our various try-on sessions since we started running, jogging and walking outdoors for exercise.

Let  me begin first with the brand and model that we currently use and love. It is the Adidas Supernova Glide series. And it is NOT the Glide 2, which we both found to be a more rigid, less bouncy version of the Glide 1. I was not a fan of the Glide 2 at all, in fact on my feet, it felt like a completely different brand. When I walked in them, I did not feel that bouncy spring that the Glide 1 gave me.

My husband and I both can run long distances in comfort and safety with no fear of injury in the Supernova Glides by Adidas.  You literally will feel like you are walking on clouds when you first have these shoes, because they are so different from most of the other brands out there. There is plenty of support for people like me who have very low to no arches in their foot also.

I didn’t even have to put arch support inserts in these running shoes, and for that I was totally impressed, because even previous Adidas models didn’t offer me that type of arch support.  These shoes are great for beginning runners to because the lessen the risk of pulls, strains and shin splints from pounding the pavement too hard.

As far as Reeboks and Nikes, we did try on several different pairs of those brands as well, including some of the Classic Reebok running shoes, and Nike Air models like the Pegasus, and we just were not as impressed with these. Many running shoes, to me, feel flimsy, like there is really no support under the heal and above, where the fabric is supposed to gently cradle your foot.

They also feel more rigid to me, like when you would jog across the shoe store floor, they felt rigid, like they didn’t have enough “give” in them. The Adidas Supernovas however, made it feel like they were absorbing the shock for you, and did not feel rigid or unforgiving like the others did.

I liked them so much that I bought a pair for my sister, and avid runner and fitness enthusiast. She loved them needless to say.  Sorry this review page seems so one sided, but I tried on a LOT of running shoes, and I really do feel that the Supernovas are the best ones for me!
