I have to admit, when I first saw the name of this curious jar of workout improvement, I thought “ew”, that’s kind of a gross name for a product. But I was even more curious about the actual use of the Sweet Sweat product and why some people who were training for big events or trying to cut weight fast were so gaga over this particular product.

I saw a lot of comments from fitness enthusiasts that they don’t ever work out without it, and that some trainers and people who play sports for a living swear by it.  So, what is Sweet Sweat exactly and could it fit into your fitness plan for weight loss and other goals?  Here’s a product review and overview.

Well, it is a tingly body emulsion that you apply topically to your skin. You are supposed to feel the tingle. I think the idea is, much like some tanning products on the market that provide that tingly feeling when applied to the skin, to increase your circulation and also to superficially increase your body temperature in that one area where the product is applied to produce a sort of thermogenic effect and kick your body in to a higher calorie and fat burning gear.

Some people totally swear that Sweet Sweat really invigorates their workout and gives them better weight and fat cutting results. Apparently you don’t need a whole lot of the product applied to get it it work correctly, so it may also be economical.

I personally like to use my infrared sauna to get my sweat on, and I think I’m a pretty good sweater to begin with during my workouts, so I don’t really think I need and therefore have never tried it, but for people who have a hard time working up a sweat and getting into that increased state of internal heat that helps you burn fat and calories, Sweet Sweat may be a pretty sweet deal for you!

You may have seen these strapped on contraptions that people can wear to increase their sweating during workouts in targeted “problem areas” like the arms (lunch lady arms – a typical problem for women), or outer thighs or of course the huge buzz word – the abdomen or belly area.

The “bands” are designed to be tightened around the area which you want to spot reduce during your workouts. This way, they make that area sweat more, supposedly increase the circulation to the area and the sweat output, and result in helping you zap the cellulite and extra fat cells and weight that you carry in that particular area.

Of course, experts may say there is no truth to these claims, but people swear by these contraptions and I’ve actually worn one before and noticed that it seemed to take a few centimeters off my designated area, so no complaints here. Plus, these workout accessories are very affordable, which helps.

Well, arm bands that are worn typically on the upper areas of the arms where the arms tend to be flabby, where women tend to hold extra weight a lot, may actually be interchangeable and used on the thighs for women too.

These are two very common problem areas for women, and using these sweat bands can help to increase the sweat and the circulation, and over time can also work by the mere principle of compression to compress the tissues and make the area smaller by force essentially.

Sweating is an important part of working out. Whether or not you believe sweating in localized areas increases your odds of losing weight in targeted areas, the fact is that where there is sweat, there is increased and improved circulation of blood. This means that cellulite and fat are easier to break up, and it’s overall a really good thing for your body.

It helps your body to detox as well, since you need good circulation in order to detoxify your body and carry toxins out via your body’s natural waste elimination processes – and sweating is a major one. The next post will be about a product called Sweet Sweat. I know I know, the name is kinda gross, but the product gets some very interesting feedback from users.

We’ll give you the scoop on that next time we talk.  Tootles!

My husband and I have owned our infrared (FIR) sauna now for about 4 years. We keep it in our basement. It has been the source of endless comfort for tired muscles, and for both of our backs and necks since we’ve both been in car accidents where we sustained injuries to these sensitive body parts.

For me it has been great in the winter time especially. I’m naturally quite the freeze baby and don’t have the greatest circulation to begin with. I can’t sit still for any period of time without getting cold hands and fingers.  So for me, our infrared sauna provides me with a much needed respite from the freezing cold, bone chilling winters we tend to have here in northeast Ohio.

A FIR sauna is an excellent gift for anyone who has frequent muscle and joint aches or back or neck pain a lot.  Both of these types of pain actually can ruin your day when they are pervasive, and are the source of much of the muscle pain that Americans suffer.

Since an infrared sauna penetrates the muscle and tissue more deeply than a regular “surface” heat sauna, it is great for people with circulation problems and muscle aches.  It is even recommended for those with arthritis and other joint problems as well.

For the sports enthusiast or active person, and infrared sauna appeals to the health benefits side of things too. Sweating for a length of time is thought to help promote a faster metabolism (while one is sweating). It is also thought to help remove toxins from the body since one of the major ways our body rids itself of toxins is through sweating.

Anyone who participates in vigorous sports or exercise activity can appreciate the deeply penetrating and soothing heat that a FIR sauna offers as well. It is a great way to end a workout or a long jaunt into  the world of sports.  It actually helps to de-stress and soothe the nerves, as well as to loosen up the tight muscles and headache tension that tends to come from stress and anxiety at work or in life.

You can actually get an infrared sauna for a very reasonable price these days. They can be shipped to your home and are relatively easy to assemble and get working. They’re also very attractive, so it’s not a major eyesore like some other recreational amenities. Oh, it’s also great for your complexion!

Yoga is an exercise that is wonderful for many reasons, not the least of which is its incredible versatility and ability to take even the most inexperienced person and make them into a graceful yogi in weeks.  It has so many levels of difficulty that anyone from your child to your grandma can do it.

Yoga has a lot of proven health benefits. Most notably, it helps to open the passageways for breathing, and helps to calm nerves and balance the hormones, so it is mostly well known as a stress buster and anti anxiety exercise.

But it also conditions the muscles and keeps them flexible, which is of vital importance as we age and naturally become more rigid. I remember when I was twelve years old, I could do backbends without even thinking about it, and I could do cartwheels and flips without batting an eye.

Now though, I might put myself into a wheelchair if I tried that! I’m only in my mid thirties now, but it’s much easier to whack my body and spine out of alignment than it once was. Yoga practice keeps you limber and young.

It also reportedly makes women feel and look a lot younger, and that is one of the reasons that so many women get hooked on it. One of the reasons it probably helps fight aging so well is because of its anti anxiety powers.

Anxiety and stress really wear on your face and accelerate aging more than most of us are willing to admit or accept.  Yoga also undoubtedly has a huge postive influence over our circulation. The better our blood circulates, the better our skin looks, the more color we have, and the more beautiful we look.

Another reason why I think so many women feel yoga makes them look younger and more beautiful is because the graceful moves you do in yoga just make you FEEL beautiful. They make you feel like a graceful dancer. When you feel beautiful, you naturally look younger and more radiant.

Cellulite is one of the most pervasive beauty issues that women report having issues with. Actually, over 90% of all women have cellulite on some area of their body. And those other supposed 10%?  Well, I think that’s a myth – I think that 100% of women have cellulite to some degree!

Of course, working out and watching your weight can dramatically reduce your cellulite, but there is always going to be some, even if you are thin and you work out regularly. The reason that working out helps smooht out cellulite is that it sculpts the body and the muscles “pulling in” the tissues, and making them appear more firm.

Also, exercise helps reduce cellulite by increasing circulation. It is widely speculated that cellulite is worse where there is a lack of circulation, so getting the circulation revved up is important.

One of the many remedies against cellulite, which include cellulite reducer creams, gels, surgery, cosmetic procedures and treatments and more, is a pair of shorts that was developed to help reduce the appearance of cellulite when they are worn regularly.

There’s not just one brand of these cellulite reducing shorts either, there are now several copy cats that came out after the originals debuted to a somewhat positive response.  I actually own a pair by a company called Delfina, and I really like to wear them once in a while, if nothing else because they make me feel thinner.

They are a sort of scuba material, and they really help pull in and restrict your body fat when you wear them. This compression aspect, and the fact that they make you sweat where you wear them, helps to increase circulation, and manually compress the fat cells in those trouble areas, which in turn helps the cellulite to appear smoother.

The only trick is that you actually have to wear them often!  To keep any results you get in cellulite reduction from these shorts, you must make sure you are wearing them a few days a week for several hours at a time.

I’ll be honest, I don’t wear them religiously, but when I feel my cellulite is getting a little worse, I’ll put them on underneath a pair of sweats, along with my favorite cellulite reduction cream, and I feel better about my cellulite, and I think it looks better the next day too.

If you really want to help reduce cellulite, put your cellulite shorts on in an infrared sauna, that’s a one-two punch!
